Welcome.
I do not know which to prefer -
The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendos,
The blackbird whistling
Or just after (Thirteen Ways of Looking At a Blackbird – Wallace Stevens, 1923)
I think what the poet implies is that the melodies, the pulse of the music, is just as important as what is left out—- the aftermath, the space between the notes………
Coming into my studio is like entering my own sonic playground.
I like to discover new possibilities and maybe even break some ‘rules’. The potential for exploring unlimited sound sources always fascinates me. I love the magic that occurs when fusing music with picture. Very often I only have a mere notion before I start to create—-I’m not sure what I am going to do. But it is almost always fun and full of surprises.
In the end, the experience of music is always a personal one and the work must speak for itself. I hope it speaks to you.
Thanks for coming by.
Warmly,
John Petersen
